May 2012: Shelter Me News Release

Melanie has co-written a theme song to a new series titled "Shelter Me." It is a PBS series hosted by Katherine Heigl. Shelter Me is a family-friendly PBS show that celebrated the human-animal bond. The series focuses on shelter animal success stories to bring more people into the shelters to give animals a second chance. Not only did Melanie co-write and perform the song, the show itself is named after the song.

The theme song, "Shelter Me (Love is Everything)," was written by Austin Bis, Melanie Fontana and Daniel Walker. It is performed by Melanie Fontana.

As of January 2012 Melanie was officially signed as a songwriter to Rondor/Universal Music Publishing and David & Jaymes Foster.

Melanie is an award winning singer/songwriter. The CT Idol and first place Amateur Night at the Apollo winner, Melanie has a five octave range and 12 years studio experience. Some of her originals and parodies including "Married Ladies" and "Paris' Sweet Escape" received nationwide airplay on CBS radio/Sirius. She's performed at world-famous BBKings, The Apollo, Camden Yards, CBGB's and The Bitter End. She's done demo-work for many producers and studios in NYC and LA, including Darkchild Studios, Skyelab Studios and Pras of the Fugees. Melanie's appeared on Say What Karaoke, TRL, Love Monkey, The Flight of the Conchords and Rescue Me.
